About the association
The Slovenian Association for Construction Information Modeling (abbreviated as Združenje siBIM, abbreviated as siBIM) is a voluntary, independent, non-partisan and non-profit organization that brings together engineers and supporters of engineering sciences who are actively involved or want to be involved in the field of information modeling of the built environment ( BIM), with the aim of organized networking and education, professional development, mutual association and exchange of experiences.

The association was founded on January 30, 2015 in Ljubljana at the initiative of individuals from the construction industry and the university. At the founding assembly, 32 interested engineers and experts from all over Slovenia were present, representing the fields of construction, architecture, mechanical engineering, ICT, economics, etc. 

The association began to operate by entering it into the register of societies on 15 April 2015.

Objectives

The goals of the association are: 

• Educating and informing members and the general public about information modeling of the built environment (BIM-approaches, BIM-technologies), its practical use and innovations in this field. 
• Organization of trainings, consultations, workshops and conferences on the topic of information modeling (BIM) of the built environment. 
• Organization and assistance in the preparation of working groups, the creation of guidelines and recommendations for the profession. 
• Providing examples of good practice in the field of information modeling (BIM) of the built environment and promoting the exchange of experiences between members. 
• Representation of the interests of all Slovenian sectors operating in the field of information modeling (BIM) of the built environment at the international level.
• Cooperation in the preparation of guidelines and regulations in the field of information modeling of the built environment. 
• Connecting with related associations worldwide.

Membership

Membership in the siBIM association is primarily intended for motivated and engaged individuals. The membership fee is valid for the current year and is due by the end of February. The membership fee for individuals is 20 EUR, and includes a 30% discount at siBIM professional events. The association will endeavor to ensure that the benefits to members are equal to or greater than the amount of the membership fee.

Membership of legal entities (companies) in the siBIM association

Membership of legal entities (companies) in siBIM is welcome. Membership is valid for the current year and is due by the end of February. The membership fee includes membership for authorised persons of the company and a package of benefits (depending on the type of membership: discount on excursions and conferences, right to use the logo, description on the website, etc.).
